1899 Fairbank's Fairy Soap Calendar with Removable Album Size Lithograph Photos!
Nathaniel Kellogg (N.K.) Fairbank (1829-1903)'s company manufactured soap as well as animal and baking products in conjunction with the major meat packing huses of northern illinois. Its Gold Dust Washing Powder (featuring the Gold Dust Twins) became one of the most successful cleansing products of the twentieth Century. It's original Fairy Soap, now part of Procter & Gamble, remains one of the best known household brands in Europe.
This wounderful approximate 6½" x 8¾" three fold 1899 Fairy Soap calendar premium produced by the N.K. Fairbank Company is exceptional in a multitude of ways. Very ornately decorated, each page is set up like a album cabinet card page designed to hold 1 card in each page. Currtently each of the pages holds one each of 3 different album card size Fairy Soap circa 1898 G. H, Burk & Co. lithographed Famous People trade cards. The three cards included are Colonel Volunteers (Rough Riders) Theodore Roosevelt; President William McKinley; and Robley D. Evens, Captain U.S.N. Of course, these could be replaced with other similar Fairy Soap trade cards or family album cabinet card photographs.
There is some minor damage to the calendar "photo" album. The individual trade card photographs are in excellent condition
