1. BARNUM BAILEY EVETTA LADY CLOWN:
Little is known of
EVETTA THE ONLY LADY CLOWN,
whose full name was Evetta Matthews. She may have been British based on the British lion on her pants. However, she also has an American eagle on her outfit. It is unusual to see a featured woman clown from that era, especially in a women's outfit. The original poster was made in 1895 by The Strobridge Litho Company.

ADAM FOREPAUGH SHOWS
:
This poster highlights the historical themes that ran through American circuses. Specifically, this poster shows the pageantry of the American Revolution. Shown in Pail Revere's Ride, The Start of the Revolution at Concord, The Battle of Bunker Hill, The signing of the Declaration of Independence, the tearing down of the George III statue by American patriots, George Washington crossing the Delaware, George Washington stopping the retreat at the Battle of Monmouth, Lord Cornwallis's surrender, and Washington's state carriage. Adam Forepaugh had one of the largest circuses in the world. The original poster was made in
1893 by The Strobridge Litho Company.
