Neoclassical Alva Museum Replica. Signed “Alva ‘90 ©”. Alva Studios of New York, NY founded by Alfred Wolkenberg, a Viennese immigrant, in 1948. Alfred had many artists and designers who were commissioned to produce reproductions of ancient jewelry and sculpture, the originals of which are owned by various museums throughout the U.S. and several foreign countries. The museums authorized the reproduction under the close control of curatorial staff to ensure quality and detail of the scaled reproduction of its sculpture works. All the pieces were marked Alva Museum Replicas and sold at museums worldwide.
Fully intact with paint missing in some areas (see photos). 19” tall, 11” at widest point, base 7” x 7”.
